The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, high-quality, patient-centered medical-surgical nursing care. This role is responsible for assessing patient needs, implementing appropriate interventions, coordinating care, supporting physicians, and ensuring compliance with evidence-based nursing practices. The RN will collaborate across disciplines to optimize patient outcomes and uphold professional nursing standards.
Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments based on identified problems, physician diagnoses, and functional health patterns
Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care
Prioritize patient needs using clinical judgment and evidence-based practice
Provide therapeutic nursing interventions and manage overall patient care
Accurately document all patient care activities according to established standards
Educate patients and families regarding conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
Support adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery
Deliver patient-centered care aligned with the nursing practice model
Float to other units such as Med Surg as needed
Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum 2 years of recent, strong Med-Surg experience required
Clinical proficiency in:
Assessment
EKG interpretation & cardiac rhythm analysis
Hemodynamic monitoring
IV therapy & insertion
Medication administration
Wound care
Patient & family education
Inpatient hospice knowledge
Critical thinking & problem solving
Effective communication & collaboration

Required: ASN
Preferred: BSN
Active NJ RN license or multistate compact license
BLS – AHA
NIHSS
CEU Stroke – 4 Hours
