About the Role

The Director of the Change Management Office is responsible for leading enterprise-wide change management strategy and execution across major transformation initiatives. Reporting to the AVP, Change Management Office, this position ensures organizational alignment, workforce readiness, and sustainable adoption of new systems, processes, and operational practices.

This role provides strategic guidance to leaders at all levels and plays a key part in maturing the organization’s change management capabilities. The ideal candidate brings a balance of strategic vision, hands-on execution, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.


Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Business, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field required

  • Master’s degree preferred

Licenses / Certifications

  • Change Management Certification required

  • Prosci Certification preferred


Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in organizational change management, business transformation, or related disciplines within complex, matrixed organizations (healthcare or similarly regulated industries preferred).

  • 5+ years of leadership experience overseeing teams or cross-functional initiatives.

  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale enterprise transformation efforts.

  • Expertise in stakeholder engagement, sponsorship alignment, communication planning, training strategies, and adoption measurement.

  • Strong ability to integrate change management within project management and performance improvement frameworks.

  • Exceptional leadership, influencing, and negotiation skills.

  • Advanced communication—written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Strong problem-solving, systems thinking, and business acumen.

  • Proficiency with change management tools, dashboards, and reporting systems.

  • Skilled in executive facilitation and consultation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for Change Management Office team members and oversee the development and delivery of change strategies supporting major organizational initiatives.

  • Serve as a senior advisor and liaison between the Change Management Office and other transformation-focused groups to ensure alignment across governance and workstreams.

  • Partner with program leaders, executive sponsors, and cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate people-related risks and ensure alignment with project milestones.

  • Direct readiness assessments, impact analyses, stakeholder mapping, communication plans, and training strategies that support end-user adoption.

  • Integrate change management methodologies and deliverables into project governance, including dashboards and reporting frameworks.

  • Develop and maintain adoption metrics, readiness indicators, and post-implementation sustainment measures.

  • Provide consulting on leadership alignment, change readiness, and workforce engagement.

  • Ensure consistent frameworks, templates, and best practices across all change management activities.

  • Recruit, coach, develop, and evaluate assigned team members.

  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Support organizational commitments to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in all change-related efforts.

  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, safety standards, and operational requirements.

  • Encourage professional development and serve as a mentor to emerging staff.

  • Model service standards by providing safe, compassionate, personalized, and efficient experiences.
