RN – Operating Room (OR)
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Duration: 14 Weeks
Schedule: Mix of 4×8-hour shifts (7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 11:00 AM–7:30 PM) and 4×12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM), totaling 80 hours biweekly
Pay Rate: $50–$60/hr ($1,875–$2,250/week)
Job Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Adult OR Registered Nurse to support surgical services at a community hospital. The ideal candidate will have strong OR experience and the ability to scrub. No call, weekends, or holidays required.
Responsibilities:
Assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures by functioning as a scrub and circulating nurse
Prepare the OR suite, instruments, equipment, and supplies according to case requirements
Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control standards
Anticipate surgeon needs and ensure smooth workflow during procedures
Monitor patient status intraoperatively and communicate concerns promptly
Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure patient safety
Document perioperative care accurately in the EMR (EPIC preferred)
Participate in room turnover and ensure readiness for subsequent procedures
Support trauma, general, orthopedic, neuro, and robotics cases as assigned
Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience
Experience in general, ortho, trauma, neuro, and robotics
Must have scrub experience
Trauma center experience (highly desired)
EPIC experience (highly desired)
Active New York State RN license
