This role combines responsibilities in Quality Assurance, Staff Education, and Infection Prevention. The ideal candidate will ensure ongoing regulatory compliance, support staff competency, oversee infection control practices, and promote continuous performance improvement within the facility.
Implement facility policies and procedures related to quality assurance using regulations, evidence-based practices, audits, and observations.
Gather and analyze data through audits, interviews, and assessments to ensure compliance across all departments.
Review monthly CASPER reports and develop QAPI-driven Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) as needed.
Prepare and interpret reports, statistical analyses, and summaries related to QAPI activities and performance outcomes.
Assist supervisors and managers in developing and executing corrective action plans.
Monitor, track, and report on plans addressing deficiencies identified by regulatory agencies.
Ensure ongoing compliance with state, federal, and Veterans Administration regulations.
Verify that facility policies and procedures reflect regulatory requirements and current practices.
Investigate incidents of non-compliance and collaborate with leadership to investigate allegations of abuse, neglect, or mistreatment.
Coordinate facility preparation for surveys.
Chair and organize Quality Assurance Committee and Infection Control Committee meetings.
Provide necessary information to surveyors in partnership with the Administrator and Director of Nursing.
Identify training needs and develop educational programs related to quality assurance, compliance, and re-education.
Implement assessments and scheduling protocols to evaluate training effectiveness.
Maintain accurate documentation of training and regulatory compliance.
Utilize adult learning principles, competency-based assessments, and skill-development approaches.
Map and track infections using McGeer and non-McGeer criteria.
Conduct daily infection control surveillance rounds to ensure staff adherence to individualized care plans.
Stay current with CMS, CDC, and other infection control guidelines and educational opportunities.

Infection Preventionist Certification
Ability to travel within the state; valid Arizona driver’s license required
