Position: Special Education Teacher – Cross Categorical (SPED Cross Cat)
Shift: Day Shift (8:50 AM – 3:40 PM)
Contract Duration: 31 weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday
The Special Education (SPED) Cross Categorical Teacher will support students with diverse learning needs in a high school setting. This role includes delivering individualized instruction, monitoring IEP goals, and fostering both academic and behavioral success.
Deliver instruction tailored to students with varying disabilities across content areas.
Implement, monitor, and document student progress toward IEP goals.
Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet diverse learner needs.
Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff.
Apply effective classroom and behavior management strategies.
Conduct assessments and maintain accurate records.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance.
Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development.
Valid Special Education teaching certification (Cross Categorical or equivalent).
Experience working with SPED students, preferably at the high school level.
Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
Knowledge of IEP processes, compliance, documentation, and best practices.
