Job Title: Travel RN – Labor & Delivery
Location: Denton, TX
Assignment Length: 8 weeks (with potential extension)
Shift: 12-hour nights, 3 shifts per week
Compensation: $2,160 weekly gross
Position Overview: A high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit is seeking an experienced RN for a short-term travel assignment. The nurse will care for laboring and high-risk antepartum patients, collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, and support safe, evidence-based maternity care. Floating to Mother/Baby units may be required based on staffing needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for laboring and antepartum patients
Monitor maternal and fetal status, including vital signs, fetal heart tones, and contraction patterns
Assist with labor, delivery, and postpartum care in collaboration with physicians and hospitalists
Document all care accurately in EPIC and CPN systems
Maintain safe patient ratios (1:2) in alignment with unit standards
Participate in scheduled weekend rotations (6 weekend shifts per 6-week period)
Adhere to unit policies, professional appearance guidelines, and facility safety protocols
Qualifications:
Recent Labor & Delivery experience, including high-risk antepartum care
Required certifications:
BLS (AHA)
ACLS
NRP
AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring
Ability to float to Mother/Baby units as needed
Able to manage a workload of up to 6 total cases per day
Strong communication, critical-thinking, and clinical assessment skills
