Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – 14-Week Contract

Shift: Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM 

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a 14-week contract assignment in a skilled nursing/rehabilitation setting. The PTA will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality rehabilitative care, assist residents with mobility and functional improvement, and support individualized treatment plans aimed at enhancing quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment programs designed by the Physical Therapist to improve residents' mobility, strength, and functional independence.

  • Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and other restorative interventions.

  • Observe and document residents’ progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising PT.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in alignment with facility and regulatory standards.

  • Educate residents and families on therapy exercises, safety techniques, and home programs as instructed by the PT.

  • Assist with equipment setup, treatment area cleanliness, and proper maintenance of therapy supplies.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive resident care.

  • Adhere to all facility policies, safety procedures, and infection control standards.

Qualifications

  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of assignment (or ability to obtain prior to start).

  • Graduate of an accredited PTA program.

  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or similar setting preferred.

  • Strong communication, time-management, and clinical documentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently while following the PT’s treatment plan and clinical direction.
