Job Title: CT Technologist – Contract

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CT Technologist to perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures in a hospital or clinical setting. The ideal candidate will ensure the delivery of high-quality CT images while maintaining patient safety and adhering to all regulatory and departmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to produce high-quality diagnostic CT images.

  • Perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure optimal function before patient use.

  • Administer contrast or radioactive material as prescribed by the physician, following approved protocols.

  • Accurately complete all required logs, documentation, and charge records, and promptly report equipment issues to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.

  • Conduct quality control, quality assurance, and radiation safety tests in line with ALARA principles.

  • Maintain, develop, and retrieve patient images and data for radiologist interpretation.

  • Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use, verify receipt upon delivery, and confirm activity levels before administration.

  • Ensure patient safety and comfort before, during, and after each procedure, exercising sound judgment and clinical expertise.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Ability to perform CT procedures according to established protocols for accuracy and consistency.

  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent patient care and interpersonal abilities.

  • Proficiency in operating CT scanners and radiology information systems.

Education & Certification Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.

  • New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) License in Radiologic Technology (L.R.T).

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography and CT.

  • BLS certification (Basic Life Support) required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of CT experience (2 years of recent CT Tech experience preferred).
