Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location: Watertown, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Weekly Guarantee: 36 Hours
Radius Rule: Candidates must live 100 miles or more from the facility
Pay: Competitive weekly gross

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) for a 13-week night shift assignment in Watertown, New York. The ideal candidate will be skilled in critical care, possess strong leadership abilities, and be able to perform effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department according to established standards and protocols.

  • Quickly assess and stabilize patients in critical and life-threatening situations.

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure effective patient care.

  • Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and document accurately in the EMR.

  • Educate patients and families about care plans, treatments, and follow-up instructions.

  • Identify safety issues and ensure the proper use of patient handling equipment.

  • May serve as a charge nurse when assigned, providing leadership and coordination for the unit.

Qualifications:

  • License: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.

  • Certifications:

    • BLS (required)

    • ACLS (required)

    • PALS (required or must obtain within 6 months of start)

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience (Emergency Department experience preferred).

    • Travel nursing experience required.

    • MEDITECH EMR experience required.

    • Critical Care and Charge Nurse experience preferred.

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

  • Must successfully complete lethal dysrhythmia exam and become defibrillation certified within six months of employment.

  • Skills:

    • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.

    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

    • Ability to work effectively under pressure.

    • IV, medication, and phlebotomy certification required during orientation.
