Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care
Location: Falmouth, MA 02540
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Rotating Nights – 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
40 hours per week
Every other weekend required
Rotating holidays required
Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,225 (Travel)
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 13-week travel assignment at a skilled nursing/long-term care facility. The LPN will provide direct patient care and supervise nursing assistants in the float unit, caring for residents with chronic and age-related health conditions.
Lead and support nursing assistants during the shift, ensuring care standards are met.
Assist with planning resident care services and shift activities.
Complete and maintain detailed resident records, charts, and documentation.
Communicate with physicians regarding treatment plans, medications, and resident progress.
Transcribe and carry out physician orders accurately.
Document nursing care in a clear and descriptive manner.
Provide orientation to new residents and family members.
Prepare and administer medications, verifying patient identity prior to administration.
Perform clinical nursing tasks including:
Catheter care
Tube feedings
Suctioning
Wound and dressing management
Colostomy and drainage care
Vital signs monitoring and documentation
Sample collection (urine, blood, sputum)
Ensure adequate medical supplies and report needs to supervision.
Provide patient and family health education as needed.
Maintain resident confidentiality and adhere to resident rights policies.
Participate in facility inspections/surveys when required.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Active LPN License in the state of Massachusetts
Current BLS/CPR Certification
Minimum 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and meet physical job demands
Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
