Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care
Location: Falmouth, MA 02540
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Rotating Nights – 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM

  • 40 hours per week

  • Every other weekend required

  • Rotating holidays required

Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,225 (Travel)


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 13-week travel assignment at a skilled nursing/long-term care facility. The LPN will provide direct patient care and supervise nursing assistants in the float unit, caring for residents with chronic and age-related health conditions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support nursing assistants during the shift, ensuring care standards are met.

  • Assist with planning resident care services and shift activities.

  • Complete and maintain detailed resident records, charts, and documentation.

  • Communicate with physicians regarding treatment plans, medications, and resident progress.

  • Transcribe and carry out physician orders accurately.

  • Document nursing care in a clear and descriptive manner.

  • Provide orientation to new residents and family members.

  • Prepare and administer medications, verifying patient identity prior to administration.

  • Perform clinical nursing tasks including:

    • Catheter care

    • Tube feedings

    • Suctioning

    • Wound and dressing management

    • Colostomy and drainage care

    • Vital signs monitoring and documentation

    • Sample collection (urine, blood, sputum)

  • Ensure adequate medical supplies and report needs to supervision.

  • Provide patient and family health education as needed.

  • Maintain resident confidentiality and adhere to resident rights policies.

  • Participate in facility inspections/surveys when required.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • Active LPN License in the state of Massachusetts

  • Current BLS/CPR Certification

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and meet physical job demands

  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
