Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Falmouth, MA

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 13-week night shift assignment at a long-term care facility in Falmouth, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care, lead nursing assistants in daily operations, and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day activities of nursing assistants in accordance with long-term care regulations.

  • Participate in planning and coordinating resident care, treatments, and shift activities.

  • Accurately complete all required resident documentation, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.

  • Review, transcribe, and carry out physicians’ orders; administer medications and treatments safely.

  • Monitor and record resident conditions, vitals, and responses to care.

  • Make rounds with physicians and assist with treatment planning as necessary.

  • Maintain adequate stock of medications and nursing supplies; report shortages promptly.

  • Perform nursing procedures such as catheter care, wound dressing, suctioning, and tube feedings.

  • Collect and label laboratory specimens (urine, blood, sputum) and perform routine testing as required.

  • Educate residents and families on care instructions, medications, and health maintenance.

  • Ensure confidentiality and uphold residents’ rights in all aspects of care.

  • Participate in audits, facility inspections, and staff training as needed.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Nurse Supervisor or management.


Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program or equivalent nursing degree.

  • Active, unencumbered Massachusetts LPN license (required).

  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) (required).

  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience in a long-term care or similar healthcare environment preferred.

  • Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and meet all physical requirements of the role.
