Location: Neptune, NJ 07754
Duration: 13 Weeks (Extendable)
Shift: 3x12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Pay Rate: $1,766 Weekly Gross


Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate OB Scrub Technician to join our Labor & Delivery team. The ideal candidate will be a certified professional who can provide high-quality patient care and technical support during obstetric and gynecological procedures. This role involves both direct and indirect patient care, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring the smooth operation of the surgical suite.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform assigned duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

  • Maintain sterile technique in the operating area, including proper scrub, gown, and glove procedures.

  • Prepare and arrange the operative table and necessary instruments for various obstetric and gynecologic procedures (e.g., Cesarean Section, Hysterectomy, D&C, manual placenta removal, and cervical repair).

  • Maintain accurate sponge, instrument, and sharps counts during surgical procedures.

  • Support nursing staff in providing patient care for antepartum and postpartum patients.

  • Stock and organize supplies for OR, PACU, and Labor Rooms, ensuring readiness for procedures.

  • Communicate patient information and condition changes to nursing staff promptly and accurately.

  • Assist patients and families with requests, ensuring compassionate and timely care.

  • Maintain safe storage of patient belongings and ensure proper labeling during transfers or discharges.

  • Respond appropriately during emergency situations, maintaining composure and teamwork.

  • Demonstrate safe and effective use of medical equipment and ensure readiness for use.

  • Adhere to all infection control, safety, and hospital policy standards.

  • Follow all state and institutional regulations, maintaining compliance with professional ethics and healthcare standards.

  • Participate in departmental meetings and quality improvement initiatives as required.

  • Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).

Certifications & Licensure:

  • Certified OB Technician (Required).

  • BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (Required).

Experience:

  • Prior OB Scrub or Surgical Tech experience in a labor & delivery or operating room setting preferred.

  • Strong understanding of sterile field management and obstetric surgical procedures.
