Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Location: Hyannis, MA 02601
Unit: Emergency Department
Duration: 13 Weeks (Extendable)
Schedule: 12-Hour Night Shifts | 3 Nights per Week

Pay Rate: $2,676 Weekly Gross


Position Overview:

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) provides professional nursing care to patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting. This role requires a strong clinical background, sound judgment, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively to changing patient conditions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the nursing process effectively in providing care, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, psychological, and social aspects, and develop individualized care plans.

  • Communicate relevant patient data to interdisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated, quality care.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in charge nurse responsibilities and act as a resource to staff members.

  • Use computerized nursing informatics systems to manage and document patient care.

  • Serve as a mentor and educator, assisting with staff orientation and ongoing professional development.

  • Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement activities.

  • Adhere to safety protocols, including infection control and blood/body fluid procedures.

  • Identify personal learning needs and maintain documentation of professional development activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or charge nurse.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent ER RN experience required.

  • At least 1 year of travel ER RN experience preferred.

  • Successful completion of Pharmacology and Basic Arrhythmia exams.

  • Proficiency in IV administration, IV starts, ventilator care, and telemetry monitoring required.

  • Completion of an approved De-escalation Certification Course preferred.


Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.


Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA) – Required

  • ACLS – Required

  • TNCC – Required

  • ENPC – Preferred

  • PALS – Preferred
