Mainframe Migration Engineer

The Mainframe Migration Engineer drives the conversion of critical banking workloads from mainframe systems to modern distributed and cloud environments without disrupting transaction processing.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze COBOL, JCL, CICS applications to determine replatforming or refactoring strategies.
Rebuild batch and real-time workflows on modern stacks.
Migrate datasets from VSAM/DB2 to modern relational or cloud-native storage.
Implement automated testing to ensure business logic integrity.
Partner with cybersecurity and architecture teams to ensure controls remain intact post-migration.
Minimize downtime and support phased cutovers.

Required Skills:

Deep COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM knowledge.
Experience migrating mainframe banking workloads.
Familiarity with Azure, microservices, and containerization.
Strong understanding of resiliency, RTO/RPO, and financial SLAs.
