Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Step-Down
Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights – 3×12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
Pay Rate: $2,450 Weekly Gross
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the ICU Step-Down team at a leading healthcare facility in Hackensack, NJ. This position involves providing high-acuity nursing care to patients recovering from critical or post-surgical conditions, including those requiring cardiac and vascular monitoring. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical excellence, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Evaluate, plan, and deliver comprehensive nursing care for ICU Step-Down patients.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, evidence-based care.
Conduct patient assessments, determine priorities for care, and implement individualized plans.
Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and post-surgical recovery progress.
Perform therapeutic interventions in accordance with established protocols.
Document all care activities in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Promote patient safety, infection control, and adherence to care policies.
Float to other critical care or step-down units within competency as required.
Support ongoing quality improvement and professional development initiatives.
Provide patient-centered care aligned with the organization’s nursing practice model.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in ICU or Step-Down/Progressive Care (required).
Cardiac, vascular, and post-surgical step-down experience strongly preferred.
Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) – required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred.
Licensure & Certifications:
Active New Jersey RN License or Compact State License (required).
BLS – AHA (required).
ACLS – AHA (required).
NIHSS Certification (required).
4-Hour CEU Contact in Stroke Education (required).
Full-time, 3×12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).
May float to similar units based on facility needs.
Weekend and holiday availability as scheduled.
