Job Title: Dental Hygienist
Location: Bradenton, FL 34203
Duration: 12+ Months (with possible extension)
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team on a PRN basis. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care and oral hygiene services in collaboration with the dentist, contributing to a positive and efficient dental office environment. This role requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and infection control.
Collaborate with the dentist to deliver comprehensive oral health care.
Perform oral hygiene treatments and provide preventive care in accordance with state guidelines.
Operate Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) equipment as required.
Remove calculus, stains, and plaque from above and below the gum line.
Apply fluoride and sealants to protect teeth.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, and disease prevention.
Record and update patient medical and dental histories accurately.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies when needed.
Contribute to team goals by performing additional related duties as assigned.
Clinical setting with exposure to dental and medical equipment.
Requires use of gloves, masks, eyewear, and protective clothing.
Involves regular interaction with patients, dentists, and team members.
Must adhere to safety and infection control protocols at all times.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Frequent talking, hearing, and use of hands for dental instruments.
Occasional lifting or moving of objects up to 25 lbs.
Regular exposure to bloodborne pathogens, requiring OSHA training.
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience as a Dental Hygienist.
Proficiency in GBT (Guided Biofilm Therapy) equipment operation preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene program.
Active Dental Hygienist License (State of Florida).
Current CPR Certification.
