Job Title: Street Outreach Worker
Location: Alexandria, VA
Duration: 1–3 Months (Contract)
Work Setting: 100% On-Site | Field-Based
"Navitas Partners, LLC" is seeking Street Outreach Worker for an exciting job in Alexandria, VA.
Deliver strengths-based case management for individuals pursuing permanent housing.
Assist clients with housing applications and help address barriers to housing stability.
Conduct outreach in community locations such as streets, encampments, hospitals, jails, and public areas.
Support drop-in center operations on a rotating schedule alongside shelter case management staff.
Maintain accurate case documentation and data entry using the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
Field-based role; majority of work occurs outside of an office setting (on foot or via agency vehicle).
Strictly on-site — not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
Full-time schedule, 8-hour shifts between 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM, based on program needs.
Overtime may be required as needed.
Driving required as part of daily responsibilities.
Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness.
Background working with populations facing behavioral health disorders and/or substance dependence.
Strong ability to engage individuals in non-traditional settings (encampments, streets, hospitals, jails, etc.).
Proficient in crisis intervention and counseling techniques.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Basic computer proficiency and experience with HMIS or similar data systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
Prior experience in street outreach, case management, or direct homeless services.
