Job Title: Patient Access Representative
Location: Houston, TX 77024
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Monday–Friday
Schedule: Four days remote (hybrid) and one day onsite
Position Summary:
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for scheduling patient appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, ensuring medical necessity compliance, and accurately posting patient payments. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide high-quality administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars.
Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
Ensure compliance with medical necessity and documentation requirements.
Collect and post patient payments accurately.
Provide professional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all healthcare regulations and policies.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Prior experience in patient access, scheduling, or healthcare administration required.
Epic EMR experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of claim follow-up and insurance processes is a plus.
