Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Registered Nurse - Wound Care for an exciting Travel or Local job in Brooklyn, NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform focused physical assessments related to wounds, ostomies, continence, fistulas, and complex wounds.
  • Develop, revise, and evaluate standards of care; assist in selecting supplies and equipment.
  • Assess and document patient responses to treatments and interventions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members and refer patients to appropriate disciplines.
  • Educate and counsel patients and families on wound and ostomy care and complication prevention.
  • Develop and deliver staff education programs including orientation and continuing education.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to prevent pressure injuries and initiate preventative measures.
  • Address ethical and conflict resolution issues as needed.
  • Work with nursing leadership to recommend best practices based on assessments.
  • Participate in unit, department, and hospital-wide quality improvement activities.
  • Provide culturally competent education tailored to diverse patient populations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information.
  • Engage in professional development to maintain clinical competency.
  • Identify and refer patients to community resources.
  • Manage rented specialty equipment such as specialty beds and negative pressure devices.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
  • Experience with wound and colostomy care
  • Valid New York State RN License with Primary Source Verification
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current certification in one of the following: Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN), Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON), Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN), Certified Wound Specialist (CWS), or Wound Care Certified (WCC)
