Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

Location: Suffern, NY

Duration: 3+ months (with possible extension)

Shift: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide high-quality clinical and administrative support within a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of patient care, diagnostic, and clerical duties to support physicians and ensure smooth clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine diagnostic laboratory procedures for isolation and identification of microbial pathogens.

  • Prepare specimens, operate automated analyzers, and perform manual tests as needed.

  • Maintain working knowledge of laboratory techniques, instruments, and quality control standards.

  • Assist with patient care duties including room preparation, vital signs, specimen collection, and assisting providers during exams or procedures.

  • Support physicians by entering orders in the EMR, processing prescription refills, and managing patient documentation.

  • Handle clerical responsibilities such as managing patient charts, coordinating medical records, and completing requisition forms.

  • Ensure proper inventory and restocking of medical supplies and equipment.

  • Adhere to infection control and sterilization protocols for exam rooms and instruments.

  • Perform proficient phlebotomy duties when required.

  • Participate in special projects and maintain compliance with organizational standards.

Skills & Experience:

  • Certified Medical Assistant or a minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience required.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

  • Proficiency in EMR systems and basic computer applications.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.

  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or GED (required).

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program (required).

  • BLS certification (AHA) required.
