Job Title: Senior SQL DBA
Duration: 12 months
Location: Remote (Candidate must be a resident of South Carolina) – Onsite travel for meetings as needed, up to 25% of the year

Project Overview:

"Navitas Partners, LLC" is seeking Senior SQL DBA for an exciting Remote job.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project development teams, as well as Oracle and IDMS DBAs, to support multiple application and infrastructure databases.

  • Advise development and product teams on data model changes and extensions.

  • Perform hands-on SQL development and application support following Microsoft best practices.

  • Maintain test, staging, and production databases; develop operational procedures for database management.

  • Develop and execute data migration plans as needed.

  • Coordinate with vendors, professional associations, and other organizations as required.

  • Analyze performance data and implement solutions for optimal database performance.

  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

Candidates must demonstrate excellence across software development leadership, project management, interpersonal skills, and domain knowledge in enterprise-class, multi-tier web-based application projects.

  • 7+ years of experience as a SQL DBA

  • 5+ years of experience with SQL Server

  • 5+ years of experience with High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR)

  • 3+ years of experience with T-SQL

  • 3+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting

  • 7+ years of experience with performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security

  • Proven experience supporting enterprise applications in Windows and Linux environments

  • Experience with Data Guard

  • Strong understanding of database scalability and operations

  • Project planning experience, including effort estimation and resource allocation

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present to management

  • High integrity and confidence in decision-making

  • Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders continuously

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or related field required

  • Master’s degree desirable

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of Oracle Enterprise Manager

  • Healthcare industry experience or managing PHI/PII data

  • Experience with data and traffic encryption

  • Vendor management experience

  • Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) or Medicaid operations experience

  • Public sector experience

Certifications:

  • None required, though SQL training or certification from a recognized source is beneficial
