Job Title: Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) (Contract)
Location: Rochester, NY
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours: 36 per week
Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care/Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). The unit is a step-down critical care environment caring for adult acute care patients requiring continuous monitoring and specialized nursing interventions. The RN will provide evidence-based, patient-centered care, managing patients with complex needs such as airway management, BIPAP support, arterial and central lines, and titrated IV medications.
Provide specialized nursing care in a 26-bed PCU/IMCU setting.
Monitor patients using continuous pulse-oximetry, telemetry, and other critical care monitoring.
Manage acute care needs including airway support, BIPAP therapy, arterial and central line care, and titrated IV infusions.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Admit and transition patients from ED, PACU, ICU, or medical-surgical floors.
Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records.
Adapt quickly to changing patient conditions and provide vigilant, compassionate care.
Active New York State RN license required.
Minimum 2 years of critical care or progressive care experience preferred.
Epic charting experience required.
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work night shifts and meet weekend requirements.
Ability to travel up to 75 miles if not local.
