Job Title: Chief Nursing Officer
 Location: Brooklyn, NY 11235
 Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to provide strategic and operational leadership for all nursing services across the facility. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and with a professional reporting relationship to the health system’s Chief Nursing Executive, the CNO is responsible for advancing nursing standards, education programs, quality care, and patient safety initiatives. This position plays a critical role in shaping the patient experience, driving staff engagement, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering interdepartmental collaboration.
Lead and oversee daily nursing operations, ensuring delivery of safe, patient-centered, high-quality care.
Develop and implement strategic nursing management plans aligned with organizational goals.
Direct and evaluate performance improvement programs across the facility, measuring outcomes against strategic benchmarks.
Present research-based recommendations to improve nursing practice and patient outcomes.
Collaborate with senior leadership, medical staff, and other departments to implement clinical integration strategies and nursing policies.
Oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of nursing personnel; ensure credentialing, competencies, and ongoing education.
Build strong partnerships with labor unions and maintain productive forums for staff engagement.
Advocate for nursing roles and responsibilities across leadership forums and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care and identify future needs in technology, systems, and equipment.
Ensure adherence to state, federal, and professional regulations, responding to legal, ethical, and public policy issues in healthcare.
Manage operating, staffing, and capital budgets in partnership with senior nursing and administrative staff.
Maintain optimal nursing staffing ratios.
Increase HCAHPS scores within 3 years.
Achieve Magnet designation within 5 years.
Attain a Leapfrog “A” grade within 5 years.
Required: Valid New York State RN license and current registration.
Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration or a related field (preferred).
Experience: Minimum 8 years of nursing experience, with at least 6 years in administration or management.
Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills.
Demonstrated success in improving patient satisfaction, clinical quality, and workforce engagement.
