We are seeking a compassionate and student-focused Elementary School Counselor to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of students in grades K–5. The School Counselor will collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to guiding young learners, addressing individual needs, and fostering positive behavior and mental well-being.
Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, personal, and social issues
Develop and implement age-appropriate guidance lessons to support student growth
Assist students in developing problem-solving, conflict resolution, and coping skills
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to identify student needs and provide appropriate interventions
Support students facing behavioral challenges, academic struggles, or personal difficulties
Create a safe and welcoming environment that encourages self-expression and learning
Participate in student support teams, IEP meetings, and other school-based interventions as needed
Refer students and families to external support services when necessary
Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with district and state policies
Promote positive school climate by implementing programs that encourage inclusivity, respect, and kindness
Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field
Valid state certification/licensure as a School Counselor
Experience working with elementary-age students preferred
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and community resources
