Title: RN – Emergency Department (Adult & Pediatric Float)

Location: Syracuse, NY 13210

Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (includes every other weekend and some holidays)

Position Summary:

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses for the Adult Emergency Department. Nurses in this role will also float to the Pediatric ED and other cross-campus ED units as needed. Candidates must be comfortable providing care to both adult and pediatric patients.

Level 1 or 2 trauma experience is highly desired, and EPIC electronic medical record experience is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Current New York State RN license and registration

  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), with ability to maintain certification

  • Minimum of 1.5 years of recent experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care facility of similar size and level

  • Experience with both adult and pediatric emergency patients required

  • EPIC EMR experience preferred

  • Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center experience highly desired

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and criminal background check

Duties:

  • Deliver safe, effective nursing care to both adult and pediatric patients in the ED

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement nursing interventions

  • Float across ED areas (Adult ED, Pediatric ED, cross-campus ED units) as required

  • Provide care with minimal orientation and supervision

Skills Required:

  • At least 2 years of nursing experience (required)

  • NYS RN license (required)

  • Level 1 trauma hospital experience (highly desired)

  • EPIC EMR experience (highly desired)
