Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Med/Tele Float RN to provide high-quality patient care across multiple hospital settings. This role requires flexibility, clinical expertise, and the ability to seamlessly integrate into diverse care environments. Float RNs support medical-surgical and telemetry units, ensuring continuity of care while responding to varying patient needs and facility demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients across medical-surgical and telemetry units

  • Perform thorough patient assessments, administer medications, and manage IV therapy per provider orders

  • Monitor patients using appropriate equipment and initiate timely interventions

  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery, and ongoing care

  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes

  • Respond to urgent patient needs and implement advanced clinical interventions when required

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system

  • Adhere to facility protocols, participate in annual competencies, and support quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license (NY or compact state)

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Tele or Med/Surg experience required

  • Strong clinical assessment, multitasking, and critical thinking skills

  • Flexibility to float between multiple facilities and adapt quickly to different care settings

  • Availability for:

    • Daily float assignments (location confirmed ~2 hours before shift start)

    • Mid-shift floating as required by operational demands
