Position Title: Registered Nurse - Surgical Step Down - Night
Location: Syracuse, NY

Shift: Night (3×12)
Hourly Pay: $64 - $66
Weekly Pay: $2,300 - $2,500
The Surgical Step Down RN provides specialized care for patients recovering from cardiac and trauma surgeries. Nurses in this unit are responsible for close monitoring, rapid assessments, and delivering skilled interventions to support patients transitioning from critical care.
Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to surgical step-down patients with complex needs
Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient conditions in a critical care environment
Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and hospital protocols
Accurately document care and progress in Epic EMR
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes
Provide education and support to patients and families throughout recovery
Maintain compliance with safety standards, infection control, and hospital regulations
Flexibly manage high-acuity cases with minimal orientation and supervision
Current New York State RN license/registration
BLS certification (must maintain active certification)
Minimum 1.5 years of recent experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care facility of similar size/trauma level
EPIC EMR experience strongly preferred
Prior Level 1 or Level 2 trauma hospital experience highly desired
Must not have had a nursing license or certification suspended/investigated
Must not have been named in a professional liability claim
Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and criminal background check
