Schedule: Flexible (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM) with overtime as needed

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead nursing operations at a long-term care facility in Flagstaff, AZ. The DON will serve as the senior nursing leader, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and effective management of nursing staff. This role requires a collaborative leader who fosters professional growth, drives performance improvement, and maintains a positive environment for both staff and residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure safe, high-quality care

  • Manage daily nursing operations, including staffing, scheduling, and training

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory standards

  • Collaborate with facility leadership and interdisciplinary teams on resident care plans and facility needs

  • Oversee quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives

  • Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff to promote professional development and retention

  • Manage the nursing budget and allocate resources effectively

  • Act as a liaison during inspections, audits, and administrative meetings

Qualifications

  • Active and valid RN license in the State of Arizona

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of direct patient care experience and at least 1 year in a supervisory role

  • Prior long-term care nursing experience is required

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
