Job Title: RN – Labor and Delivery (Night Shift)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks (with possible extension)
Start Date: August 22, 2025
Shift: Night Shift | 12 hours per day | 3 days per week | 36 hours per week
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the Family Birth Center team. The role includes providing care across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery. Candidates must be able to circulate and scrub C-sections and deliver safe, compassionate care for mothers and newborns.
Provide direct patient care in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery settings.
Circulate and scrub C-section procedures as required.
Perform nursing assessments and document care accurately in the EMR.
Administer medications, interventions, and patient education in accordance with care plans.
Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal outcomes.
Monitor patients closely during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases.
Support patient and family education regarding newborn care and postpartum recovery.
Float as needed between labor & delivery, postpartum, and nursery units.
Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and safety regulations.
Current New York State RN license (active and in good standing).
BLS certification (must be current or able to be recertified).
Minimum 1.5–2 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery within an acute care facility of similar size and level.
Experience circulating and scrubbing C-sections required.
Level 1 trauma center experience highly desired.
EPIC EMR experience preferred.
Must possess excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.
Must not have had professional license/certification suspended or investigated.
Must pass pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and background check.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. required.
Required:
2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
NYS RN license
Ability to circulate and scrub C-sections
Highly Desired:
Level 1 trauma experience
EPIC EMR experience
