Position: Senior Cloud Security Engineer
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Columbia, SC (Onsite)

Scope of Project:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and optimize secure cloud-based solutions for large-scale applications and infrastructure. This role requires expertise in both public and hybrid cloud models, strong consulting skills, and the ability to translate customer needs into actionable solutions. You will work closely with product owners, application teams, and network/security teams, while being hands-on in the delivery and execution of cloud security initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy secure, highly available, and scalable cloud infrastructure and applications, with a focus on AWS and Azure.
  • Develop automation tools to build cloud security accelerators and intellectual property.
  • Collaborate with Security Operations teams to build and maintain SIEM, SOAR, and XDR technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues in development, testing, and production environments.
  • Ensure compliance with security frameworks (NIST, HIPAA, PII, SOX, PCI, CMMC, CUI, etc.) through effective monitoring, logging, and auditing.
  • Implement secure (zero trust) infrastructure in cloud environments.
  • Support security initiatives for state and local government customers.
  • Travel as needed for customer engagements.

Required Skills:

  • 5–10 years of experience in information security and engineering.
  • Proven expertise in designing and maintaining secure AWS and Azure cloud infrastructures.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls in AWS and Azure.
  • Proficiency in cloud security design, operations, and automation.
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining Palo Alto VM-series firewalls in cloud environments.
  • Strong documentation skills for security tools, configurations, and incident reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • AWS or Azure certification (required).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Prisma Cloud, Forescout, Cisco Umbrella, Palo Alto Firewalls, and F5 load balancing/firewall.

Preferred Certifications:

  • CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional
  • SC-100 – Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect
  • AWS Certified Cloud Solutions Architect
  • Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer
  • PCNSA / PCNSE
