Title: Network Technician – Consultant
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Columbia, SC (Onsite)

Responsibilities:

  • Administer, install, configure, maintain, and support computer hardware, software, printers, and network connectivity under limited supervision.
  • Update and manage tickets in the ticketing system for all IT-related issues; assist helpdesk with lower-tier support when needed.
  • Monitor cyber threats, attacks, and vulnerabilities (e.g., viruses, ransomware, worms, trojans, keyloggers, adware, bots, RATs, logic bombs).
  • Troubleshoot network connection issues between endpoint devices and distribution switches.
  • Process inventory and maintenance requests for computer systems and printers.
  • Conduct and assist with equipment inventory across all agency regions.
  • Prepare new systems and devices for employees.
  • Update user information in Active Directory and perform password resets and system configurations.
  • Utilize SCCM for system updates and management.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of enterprise desktop support and customer service experience.
  • Proficiency in desktop administration for Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for desktops, printers, networks, and MDM-managed iPhones.
  • Experience with Active Directory and SCCM updates.
  • Familiarity with IT networks, virtual environments, databases, and storage systems.
  • Experience with Windows security (Group Policy), Windows Server 2019, and M365.
  • Excellent communication skills (phone, email, in-person) across varied situations and personalities.
  • Ability to perform both remote and onsite technical support, including multi-site support.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in system administration.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with SCCM, MDM, and GPO.

  • Strong personal, ethical, and moral standards.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise desktop support concepts and network endpoint troubleshooting.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to prioritize workloads.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and take ownership of responsibilities.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Technology Management, OR equivalent work experience.
