Title: Information Systems Architect – Advanced (Citrix Architect)
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Columbia, SC (Onsite)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Citrix VDI Architect to design, develop, and support a secure, user-friendly, and resilient VDI environment. This role will focus on CUI VDI architecture, Windows system imaging, technical and engineering support, and training for System Administrators. The ideal candidate will be able to balance security objectives with performance and usability while minimizing service disruptions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level-2 and Level-3 technical support for Citrix/XenApp server environments.
  • Monitor and manage the VDI platform using tools such as NetScaler and ControlUp.
  • Support VDI end-user sessions, VDI stack, and XenDesktop Broker functions.
  • Ensure timely patching and updates for all Citrix platform servers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT-VDI related helpdesk requests.
  • Implement and support Microsoft core services: AD, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, and Group Policy.
  • Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Citrix environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and participate in client meetings to provide updates.
  • Provide one-on-one training for administrators and team members.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction with supported products and solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience with Citrix XenDesktop, XenServer, and Microsoft Windows infrastructure.
  • Proven expertise in VMware Administration, Citrix App Layering, and Citrix/XenApps.
  • Citrix Administration Certification.
  • Advanced system testing and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with adaptability and self-motivation.
  • Experience with workflow analysis and structured problem-solving methods.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both small and large audiences.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex VDI environments and identifying root causes.
  • Planning and execution experience for large-scale infrastructure implementations.
  • Ability to develop and update processes to maintain an optimized VDI environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to resolve ambiguity and handle complex technical challenges.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional IT experience.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise Windows and Citrix VDI environments.

Certification:

  • Preferred: Citrix Administration Certification.
