Job Type: 8-Week Travel Assignment
Shift: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM | No weekends required

Weekly Pay:

  • Travelers: Up to $3,803/week (includes stipends; based on experience and location)

  • Local Candidates: Up to $3,045/week

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Infection Preventionist for a short-term travel assignment in New York City. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infection prevention and control within hospital settings and be passionate about promoting a culture of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveillance, data collection, investigation, and analysis of infections and communicable diseases

  • Monitor and support hospital-wide infection prevention programs

  • Collaborate with departments to drive patient safety and reduce infection risk

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including DOH reporting

  • Utilize EPIC Bugsy for infection tracking and reporting

  • Serve as the on-site resource for infection control (on-site only, no remote or hybrid option)

  • Participate in audits, safety improvement projects, and staff training

Required Qualifications:

  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) – Required

  • Familiarity with EPIC Bugsy – Required

  • Department of Health (DOH) reporting experience – Preferred

  • Minimum 2 years of infection prevention/control experience in a hospital setting

  • Solid knowledge of healthcare epidemiology, infectious diseases, and infection surveillance

  • Proven ability to ensure regulatory compliance (CDC, DOH, etc.)

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Epidemiology, Microbiology, Nursing, Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science, or a related field – Required

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field – Preferred

  • Candidates with a Master’s are preferred to have 4–5 years of clinical or infection prevention experience
