Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 40 hours/week | No weekends

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Infection Preventionist to support our infection control and prevention efforts within a hospital setting. The Infection Preventionist will be responsible for conducting surveillance, investigation, analysis, and reporting of infections and communicable diseases. This individual will contribute to building and maintaining a culture of patient safety and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes and enhance the patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts and facilitates infection surveillance, investigation, analysis, and interpretation of data.

  • Implements infection prevention and control strategies to reduce healthcare-associated infections.

  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal infection control standards and guidelines.

  • Collaborates across departments to assess and implement safety measures.

  • Participates in ongoing monitoring and performance improvement initiatives related to infection prevention.

  • Reports infection-related data to the Department of Health (preferred experience).

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in infection prevention and control, healthcare epidemiology, or a related field in a hospital or healthcare setting.

  • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) issued by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) – Required

  • Proficient experience with EPIC Bugsy – Required

  • Must have worked in an inpatient (IP) hospital setting

  • Strong understanding of CDC, OSHA, CMS, and Joint Commission infection control standards
