Job Title: Infection Preventionist

Duration: 13 weeks contract

Work Location: New York, NY

Shift Timing: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM

Requirement: CIC certificate, BLS

Job Description:

• Conduct surveillance and data collection on healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and communicable diseases
• Investigate infection trends and outbreaks, and recommend control measures
• Interpret and analyze infection data for reporting to appropriate local, state, and federal agencies
• Collaborate with hospital departments to ensure compliance with infection prevention standards
• Provide education and training to healthcare staff on infection control practices and policies
• Support Department of Health reporting and documentation requirements
• Utilize EPIC Bugsy for infection surveillance and reporting activities
• Ensure compliance with CDC, OSHA, DOH, and Joint Commission standards
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives related to infection prevention

Required Qualifications:

Certification:

• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) issued by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) – Required

Education (Minimum):

• Bachelor’s degree in Epidemiology, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Nursing, or a related discipline from an accredited institution

Experience (Minimum):

• At least two (2) years of clinical experience OR experience in infection prevention and control, healthcare epidemiology, or a related field in a hospital or healthcare setting
