Job Title: Patient Registrar (Korean)

Location: Flushing, NY
Duration: 3 Months (13 Weeks)
Shift: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST

Job Summary:

Seeking a bilingual Patient Registrar fluent in Korean and English to support patient registration for surgical procedures. This role involves collecting accurate demographic and insurance information, providing culturally sensitive assistance to Korean-speaking patients, and ensuring seamless front-end operations in a surgical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately register patients for scheduled surgical procedures.

  • Assist Korean-speaking patients with registration forms and instructions in their native language.

  • Verify insurance details, obtain pre-authorizations, and ensure completion of necessary documentation.

  • Collect co-payments and provide basic financial counseling where applicable.

  • Collaborate with surgical teams, billing offices, and insurance carriers.

  • Ensure all patient paperwork, identification, and consent forms are signed and in compliance.

  • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and organizational privacy policies.

  • Input and update patient data in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

  • Handle incoming calls and address inquiries in both Korean and English.

  • Support translation and interpretation needs for patients in the surgical department.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred).

  • 1–2 years of experience in medical registration, front desk, or hospital admissions (surgical department experience is a plus).

  • Bilingual fluency in Korean and English (speaking, reading, writing).

  • Familiarity with insurance verification and authorization procedures.

  • Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and organizational abilities.

  • Able to multitask in a diverse and high-volume healthcare environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience serving Korean-speaking populations or working in culturally diverse clinics.

  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms.

  • Basic understanding of surgical scheduling workflows.
