Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Registered Dietitian to provide high-quality nutritional care in a dynamic clinical environment. This role involves patient-centered assessments, education, and medical nutrition therapy in collaboration with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical knowledge, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes in acute or post-acute settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct timely nutrition screenings and assessments based on patient level of care

  • Interview patients and families to understand eating habits, preferences, and cultural considerations

  • Interpret lab results, physical assessments, and patient history to inform nutritional care plans

  • Provide education on therapeutic diets, food-drug interactions, and nutrition-related topics

  • Collaborate with physicians and care teams to implement and adjust diet orders

  • Customize patient menus and care plans based on evolving needs

  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record

  • Monitor patient progress and provide follow-up as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience (2+ years preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or Foods & Nutrition from an accredited institution

  • Active Registered Dietitian (RD) credential via the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) – Required for Acute Care

  • NYSED Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist – Required

  • Primary Source License Verification – Required

  • AHA BLS certification – Preferred

  • Master’s degree – Preferred
