Job Title: SAP S/4HANA Consultant – Higher Education Financials
Location: Remote / On-site (Higher Education Institution)
Duration: Contract / Full-Time (as applicable)

Job Summary:

A leading higher education institution is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Consultant to support its digital transformation from legacy ERP systems to SAP S/4HANA. The role focuses on financial configurations specific to the education sector, including Student Financial Planning (SFP), Tuition Management, Grants, Scholarships, and Billing. The consultant will ensure compliance with regulatory and institutional policies while streamlining financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure SAP S/4HANA FI (Finance) and CO (Controlling) modules tailored to higher education needs (tuition, aid, grants).

  • Customize Student Billing & Receivables, including integration with SAP FSCM.

  • Implement education-specific GL accounts, cost centers, and funds management structures.

  • Design automated payment plans, refund processes, and third-party billing (e.g., sponsors, aid programs).

  • Integrate SAP Student Lifecycle Management (SLcM) with Financial Accounting modules.

  • Create Fiori dashboards to monitor student financial activity, payments, and awards.

  • Utilize SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) to generate actionable financial reports.

  • Support migration from legacy ERP systems (e.g., Oracle PeopleSoft, Banner) to SAP S/4HANA.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • SAP S/4HANA FI/CO Certification (Preferred).

  • Experience with financial processes in higher education (tuition billing, scholarships, grant accounting).

  • Proficiency in SAP Funds Management (FM) and Grantor Accounting.

  • Familiarity with SAP Fiori apps used in educational finance.

  • Ability to configure payment plans, dunning, and collections within SAP.

  • Understanding of regulatory compliance such as GAAP, IFRS, or Title IV (or equivalent).

  • Strong communication and training skills for working with academic and administrative stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors LMS integration.

  • Familiarity with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) for custom development.

  • Background in public sector or nonprofit financial environments.
