Job Title: Firewall Administrator 
Location: REMOTE 
Contract Duration: 6 Months 

Position Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced Firewall Administrator to manage, monitor, and secure the organization’s network perimeter infrastructure. This role involves implementing and maintaining firewall rules, monitoring network traffic, and ensuring the security and performance of network systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with firewall technologies, TCP/IP networking, and network performance troubleshooting. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Implement and maintain TCP/IP network configurations and troubleshoot firewall routing rules and policies. 
  • Analyze security requirements and apply changes to perimeter security systems to meet organizational objectives. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to assist internal teams and customers in resolving firewall and network-related issues. 
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as device reboots, system updates, and performance tuning of perimeter security devices. 
  • Diagnose and resolve network performance issues; conduct traffic analysis to identify anomalies or threats. 
  • Monitor, configure, and optimize Firewall/DMZ infrastructure, including both Network and Application-level Firewall Packet Filtering technologies. 
  • Support IPS/IDS systems in coordination with broader security infrastructure. 

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience with enterprise firewall platforms and perimeter security tools. 
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, firewall routing policies, and packet inspection. 
  • Experience troubleshooting complex network and firewall issues across various environments. 
  • Familiarity with IDS/IPS technologies and log analysis. 
  • Strong communication and documentation skills. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNP Security, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, or equivalent. 
  • Experience with firewall platforms such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower, or Check Point. 
  • Understanding of DMZ architecture, VPN configurations, and secure remote access best practices.
