Job Title: Housing Program Admin (Part-Time)
Location: Fairfax, VA (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months
Work Schedule: Part-Time (20 hours/week)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Part-Time Administrative Assistant to support the Homeownership Division of a local housing agency. This role involves providing a wide range of administrative support services to ensure the smooth functioning of housing programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, tech-savvy, and customer-focused, with experience working in public service or housing-related settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a daily point of contact for customers, stakeholders, and community members

  • Communicate clearly and professionally in both oral and written formats with internal and external audiences

  • Provide administrative support to the Homeownership Division for both routine and ad hoc assignments

  • Support key housing projects including application intake, tracking, monitoring, and reporting

  • Proficiently use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Yardi to prepare and manage documents and reports

  • Prepare routine correspondence and assist in coordinating timely responses to inquiries and information requests

  • Sort, review, and disseminate incoming mail and requests, ensuring timely follow-up and appropriate routing

  • Perform file management, document archiving, and maintain confidential information with discretion

  • May perform additional duties as assigned in support of the division’s mission

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated customer service experience, including responding to internal/external inquiries across multiple channels

  • Background supporting community stakeholders or professional staff with:

    • Correspondence and follow-ups

    • Document/report preparation and maintenance

    • Archiving and file management

    • Handling confidential information

    • Public inquiry response

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with housing assistance programs

  • Familiarity with serving vulnerable populations
