Job Title: Housing Program Admin (Part-Time)
Location: Fairfax, VA (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months
Work Schedule: Part-Time (20 hours/week)
We are seeking a Part-Time Administrative Assistant to support the Homeownership Division of a local housing agency. This role involves providing a wide range of administrative support services to ensure the smooth functioning of housing programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, tech-savvy, and customer-focused, with experience working in public service or housing-related settings.
Serve as a daily point of contact for customers, stakeholders, and community members
Communicate clearly and professionally in both oral and written formats with internal and external audiences
Provide administrative support to the Homeownership Division for both routine and ad hoc assignments
Support key housing projects including application intake, tracking, monitoring, and reporting
Proficiently use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Yardi to prepare and manage documents and reports
Prepare routine correspondence and assist in coordinating timely responses to inquiries and information requests
Sort, review, and disseminate incoming mail and requests, ensuring timely follow-up and appropriate routing
Perform file management, document archiving, and maintain confidential information with discretion
May perform additional duties as assigned in support of the division’s mission
Demonstrated customer service experience, including responding to internal/external inquiries across multiple channels
Background supporting community stakeholders or professional staff with:
Correspondence and follow-ups
Document/report preparation and maintenance
Archiving and file management
Handling confidential information
Public inquiry response
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Experience working with housing assistance programs
Familiarity with serving vulnerable populations
