Job Title: Senior Security Engineer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of a robust security infrastructure for a high-profile federal environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with on-premise and cloud systems and possess a deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement security infrastructure to protect enterprise data and systems from internal and external threats (cloud and on-premises).

  • Maintain and manage security tools, including software upgrades, patch management, and configuration to ensure optimal performance.

  • Research and recommend new security technologies and solutions to enhance the organization’s security posture.

  • Contribute to the implementation of Zero Trust Architecture, including identity and access management enhancements, network segmentation, and improved visibility across assets.

  • Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and best practices.

  • Analyze security data to detect anomalies and potential threats.

  • Assess risks and implement mitigation strategies to reduce vulnerabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or a related role.

  • Strong background in secure network and system design, both in local and cloud environments.

  • Proficiency with a range of security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, IAM tools, and encryption protocols.

  • Knowledge of industry standards and compliance (e.g., NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP).

  • Familiarity with SDLC, Agile methodologies, and security engineering principles.

  • Experience conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation plans.

Preferred Certifications (one or more):

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

  • Information Systems Security Engineering (ISSE)

  • Certified Cloud Security Engineer (CCSE)
