Job Overview:

A healthcare facility in New York is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join its Pediatric Float Pool. This role requires experience in a Level 1 trauma environment and involves direct and indirect patient care responsibilities across various pediatric units.

Qualifications:

  • Current New York State CNA certification

  • CPR certified or eligible for re-certification

  • One year or more of patient care experience

  • Must successfully complete pre-employment health clearance

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including vital signs, toileting, bathing, and feeding in accordance with patient assignments

  • Serve as a safety companion to patients identified as safety risks

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

  • Respond to the needs of pediatric patients with consideration for normal growth and development

  • Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to address patient needs and ensure safety

  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to effective communication across care teams

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and help maintain a safe work environment

  • Uphold high standards of professionalism, ethical behavior, and patient-focused care

  • Remain engaged in ongoing professional development

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior work experience in a Level 1 trauma setting

  • Previous experience in a pediatric care environment is highly valued
