Job Title: Physical Therapist I

Location: New York, NY (Postal Code: 10003)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours/day (37.5 hours/week)
Schedule Notes: Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required

Job Summary:

Entry-level Physical Therapist position within a multidisciplinary care team. This role includes the opportunity to rotate across inpatient, outpatient, and acute care settings. The therapist will perform assessments, implement treatment plans, and contribute to the overall rehabilitation process while working under supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial evaluations, set treatment goals, and implement physical therapy interventions.

  • Conduct timely re-evaluations and adjust treatment plans as needed.

  • Coordinate care with other medical disciplines when appropriate.

  • Complete all required documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, monthly summaries, and discharge reports.

  • Provide education and training to families, caregivers, and clinical personnel.

  • Recommend and coordinate durable medical equipment needs and write letters of medical necessity when required.

  • Participate in discharge planning and provide individualized home exercise programs.

  • Attend assigned clinical rounds, conferences, in-service sessions, and team meetings.

  • Support additional patient caseloads when coverage needs arise.

  • Maintain patient records, billing documentation, and statistical data.

  • Contribute to supervision and training of rehab aides, students, and volunteers.

  • Adhere to all applicable organizational policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 0–1 year of relevant clinical experience (2 years preferred for this contract)

  • Current Physical Therapy License issued by the State of New York

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate level)

  • APTA membership required

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy (Master’s Degree preferred)
