Job Title: Certified Surgical Technician – Contract

Schedule: 4 days/week, 10 hours/day (40 hours/week)
Note: Minimum of 2 years Certified Surgical Technician (CST) experience required
Provides surgical assistance to clinical staff in an oral surgery clinic and dental ambulatory OR/procedure room, supporting both surgical residents and attending clinicians.
Escort patients to surgical chairs, review charts, and verify readiness for treatment.
Provide continuous “four-handed” chairside assistance to clinicians during procedures.
Ensure all surgical areas and tools (e.g., countertops, mayo stands) are cleaned and disinfected before setup.
Prepare sterile instruments, surgical trays, and equipment for each procedure.
Take radiographs as needed before, during, and after procedures.
Restock drawers, cabinets, and order necessary medical/surgical supplies.
Monitor patient vitals and assist with suctioning, instrument handling, and medication support during procedures.
Remove and properly dispose of instruments and medical waste after procedures.
Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies following established protocols.
Certified Dental Assistant credentials and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong organizational and infection control practices.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Emergency response competency in a clinical setting.
Associate’s Degree required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a surgical or dental assistant role (5 years preferred).
