Job Title: Registered Nurse – NICU
Location: Bronx, NY
Duration: 3+ Months (Extendable)
Shift: Days | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Position Summary:

A reputable healthcare facility in the Bronx is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled NICU Registered Nurse for a full-time day shift assignment. The ideal candidate will have recent experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and be well-versed in the specialized care of critically ill newborns. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment dedicated to the health and development of neonates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously monitor and record vital signs including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation

  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and other prescribed treatments

  • Operate and manage specialized NICU equipment such as incubators, ventilators, and infusion pumps

  • Assist with or perform procedures including intubation, blood draws, lumbar punctures, and IV line insertions

  • Document all patient care, observations, and procedures in a timely and accurate manner

  • Provide basic newborn care including feeding, diaper changes, and hygiene

  • Respond swiftly to neonatal emergencies such as respiratory or cardiac distress using NRP protocols

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sterile environment by adhering to infection control and PPE protocols

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with care standards

  • Collaborate effectively with the NICU care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program (ASN or BSN)

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – New York State

  • Current AHA BLS and NRP certifications (ACLS preferred)

  • Minimum 1 year of recent NICU nursing experience

  • Experience in Labor & Delivery or Mother/Baby care (preferred)

  • Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and communication skills
