Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to support a busy and fast-paced Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will be skilled in acute care nursing, quick-thinking under pressure, and adaptable to changing patient conditions. This is a rotating night shift position, requiring a commitment to weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in an emergency department setting
  • Perform initial patient assessments, triage, and continuous monitoring
  • Administer medications and interventions in accordance with clinical protocols
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to implement care plans
  • Respond promptly to urgent and emergent situations
  • Document all patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Participate in unit-based quality and performance improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts
  • Minimum 2 years of recent emergency room experience in an acute care hospital
  • Certifications required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • Proficient critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and time management abilities
  • Ability to work rotating night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday
  • Full availability and schedule commitment required
