Job Title: Staff Accountant

Pay Rate: $32.35/ hr
A temporary opportunity is available for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support financial operations. The position is responsible for managing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, preparing HUD reports, and maintaining program-specific financial records. The role operates under general supervision and works independently to support multiple programs.
Prepare journal entries and assist with monthly/period-end closings on the computerized general ledger system
Reconcile bank statements and perform detailed account analysis
Maintain financial records for federally funded programs such as C.G.P., C.D.B.G., and F.S.S.
Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies (e.g., HUD)

Mathematical Skills
Perform basic math functions: add, subtract, multiply, divide with whole numbers, decimals, and fractions
Compute ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs

Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
Solve basic problems involving a few variables
Learn and apply financial policies and procedures
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Perform precise mathematical calculations
Type at a minimum speed of 35 wpm
Work independently with minimal supervision
Communicate clearly and professionally, both written and verbal
Build and maintain effective working relationships
Experience Required: 2–4 years in accounting or finance
Education Preferred: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, preferably with a focus in accounting
Regularly required to talk and hear
Frequently required to sit, use hands and fingers
Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl
Occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds
Vision requirements include close, distance, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
