Job Title: Medical Assistant II
Duration: 13-Week Contract
Shift: Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $20 to $22 per hour

Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Medical Assistant II for a 13-week contract. This role supports patient care in a fast-paced medical office by maintaining patient flow, documenting clinical data, assisting with diagnostics, and ensuring accurate electronic health records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain efficient patient flow during clinic hours

  • Record vital signs (pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, height), review and update patient histories and medications

  • Accurately document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

  • Prepare patient charts by scanning and reviewing diagnostic tests, hospital reports, and medical records

  • Refill prescriptions and manage medication pre-authorizations; communicate with patients, pharmacies, and insurers

  • Maintain exam rooms and ensure they are fully stocked and clean

  • Assist with patient paperwork, samples, medication inventory, and disposal of expired items

  • Return patient calls, respond to MyChart messages, and manage daily EMR work queues

  • Operate diagnostic equipment such as EKGs and cardiac monitors

  • Perform clinical tasks as assigned, including vaccinations, phlebotomy, cast or suture removal, etc.

  • Comply with legal, safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining patient confidentiality

Required and Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Strong computer skills (EMR, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, scheduling systems)

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to travel to other physician office locations if needed

  • 2 to 5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or similar clinical support role

  • Exposure to various care settings (e.g., primary care, specialty, EMT)

  • Additional clinical skills such as phlebotomy, EKG administration, suture or splint removal

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program (required)

  • Associate degree (preferred)

Certifications and Licensure:

  • BLS certification (required)

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential (preferred)
