Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of recent Emergency Department (ED) experience, including pediatric exposure

  • Travel RN experience preferred

  • Two (2) recent ED Charge Nurse or Manager references

  • Active New York RN license (verified via NURSYS)

  • Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC

  • Experience with EPIC EMR system is required

  • Must complete skills checklist aligned with Emergency Department specialty

  • Valid driver’s license (must match submitted home address)

  • Charge nurse capability highly preferred

  • Must be willing to float as needed

  • Scrub color: Navy Blue

  • RTO (Requested Time Off): Must be submitted with application

Unit Details

Department Type: Emergency Department (64 total beds)

  • 40 Acute Care

  • 6 Super Track

  • 2 Trauma

  • 10 CDU (Clinical Decision Unit)

  • 6 Psych

  • 2 Triage

Patient Population:

  • Newborns, Pediatrics, Adults, Geriatric

Common Diagnoses Treated:

  • Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, MI, Cardiac Arrest, Respiratory Failure

Key Equipment Used:

  • Arctic Sun, Rapid Infuser

Additional Information

  • Block scheduling: Not guaranteed

  • On-call: Not required

  • Overtime:

    • Daily OT after 24 hours (based on multiplier)

    • Weekly OT after 48 hours (based on multiplier)
