Registered Nurse – ICU Step Down Unit

Hours: 34.5 hours per week (3 days/week, 11.5-hour shifts)
Pay Range: Local: $2,380.5/Weekly, $2,979/Weekly

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for an assignment in the ICU Step Down Unit. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in critical care, the ability to manage complex medical conditions, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care during transitional recovery phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide care to adult and geriatric patients in a step-down setting with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and manage patients with catheters, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, ventilators, and cardiac monitors
• Deliver specialized care to patients transitioning from the ICU who require increased clinical attention
• Conduct frequent patient assessments and promptly escalate any changes in condition
• Respond to emergency situations including cardiac arrests and rapid response codes

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (National League of Nursing)
• Active RN license in New York State (Primary Source Verified)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in:
  • Medical/Surgical Step Down or ICU
  • IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation
• Certifications:
  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Demonstrated ability to meet age-specific patient care competencies
